Corner House is a supportive housing residence in West Harlem for
formerly homeless, mentally ill adults and elders from the community.
The building was newly renovated when it opened in 1998, and its
34 studio apartments are fully furnished.
On-site staff provides case management, psychiatric
care, meals, recreational activities, and 24 hour/7
day per week front desk security. Each tenant is assigned
a case manager with whom they meet regularly. A
tenants’ committee plans activities including
the annual Holiday Party, The Corner House Café,
and Planting Day.
The success of Corner House can be attributed in part to Goddard
Riverside’s continuing commitment to community
involvement. The Corner House is an active member
of the United Edgecombe Block Association and has
helped bring about many positive changes in the neighborhood.
A gift to Goddard Riverside provides a supportive
housing residence in West Harlem for formerly homeless,
mentally ill adults and elders from the community.
