The Senate

he Senate is a permanent supportive housing residence for formerly homeless adults, many with mental illness. An eight-story building, it comprises 136 single-room occupancy (SRO) units, offices, and community space. Most tenants are referred through the New York City shelter system or our Project Reachout program.

On-site services include medication monitoring, case management, money management, entitlement assistance, medical and psychiatric care, substance abuse counseling, work readiness training, a meals program, 24 hour/7 day per week front desk security, and group activities ranging from trips to the movies to quilting.

Developed in 1988, The Senate was one of the first low-income housing tax credit projects in New York City.

A gift to Goddard Riverside provides permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless adults, many with mental illness. Donate now.
