Riverside recently completed construction on a new
five-story
residence on West 140th Street, our fifth housing
facility, which is providing affordable, permanent
supportive housing for homeless mentally ill adults.
The building comprises 48 furnished studio apartments,
offices for the social service and building staff,
and ample common space including a dining room, kitchen,
library, and backyard. A finished basement will provide
additional space for services for tenants and others
from the community. Onsite services for tenants include
medication monitoring, case management, money management,
entitlement assistance, medical and psychiatric care,
substance abuse counseling, work readiness training,
a meals program, 24 hour/7 day per week front desk
security, and group activities.
The
building is located nearby Goddard Riverside’s
Corner House residence.
