volunteers make great things happen at Goddard Riverside.
You could be one of them! Below is a list of current
volunteer opportunities.
New
York Book Fair
The annual New York Book Fair is our biggest fundraiser.
We need volunteers to unpack and sort donated books,
set them out on tables and sell, sell, sell. To volunteer,
For more information, contact: Gigi Verkaik at:
gverkaik@goddard.org
or
call 212-873-6600, extension 312.
REACH mentoring program
REACH matches middle and high school students with
adult volunteer tutors/mentors. Together the pairs
work on school projects and homework, build literacy
and math skills with REACH curriculum, and begin to
think about college. Volunteers must be college graduates
or current college students. They must also be creative,
flexible and have a lot of patience. All tutoring/mentoring
takes place on-site at our Beacon program (154 West
93rd Street) one evening per week (6-7:30 pm), September
to June.

Holiday
Meals
Every Thanksgiving and Christmas over 1,000 New Yorkers,
including many who are homeless, share a meal at Goddard
Riverside. These extraordinary community celebrations
are made possible with help from volunteers who contribute
in a variety of ways – from the overall planning
to preparing food and serving it to dropping off a
special dessert. To find out how you can become involved,
contact Ernie Greizman by e-mail c/o:
vfaison@goddard.org
or
by phone 212-873-6600, extension 370.
