the past 20 years, in the process of helping over 4,000
students enroll in college, OPTIONS has developed a
successful program model for assisting young people
from diverse backgrounds achieve post-secondary education.
OPTIONS has worked with social service agencies around
the city for more than 15 years to develop college counseling
programs. We also helped found the College
Access Consortium of New York (CACNY), a 100-member
group of colleagues in schools, colleges, and non-profits.
The two training and technical assistance initiatives
at OPTIONS are:
OPTIONS Training Project and
Collaborative
The seven-year OPTIONS Training Project established
four new college access centers based on the OPTIONS
model. We accomplished this by offering training,
technical assistance and seed funding to youth-serving
organizations in high-need neighborhoods.
