SINGLE STOP

 

Our Single Stop site offers free, friendly, confidential, one-on-one services for individuals and families. Located in our residential facility on West 140th Street the program opened its doors in January 2007 and offers community resources to Harlem residents.

Goddard Riverside launched Single Stop with the Robin Hood Foundation to connect to low-income families with the millions of dollars of public benefits intended for them. Many enter the program in crisis, overwhelmed by the process of applying for services or unaware of available help. the model is now being rolled out nationwide by SingeStop USA.

Benefits Screening

We help individuals and families access programs and services for which they qualify, including:

  • Public Assistance
  • Food Stamps
  • Healthcare

Financial Counseling

Every Tuesday a financial counselor helps individuals and families save and plan for their future:

  • Open a Bank Account
  • Solve Credit Debt
  • Money Management
  • Free Referrals to Free Neighborhood Tax Filing Centers (between January & May)

Legal Consultation

Twice a week, a Legal Aid attorney offers free advice concerning:

  • Housing
  • Benefits, including SSI/SSD
  • Family & Custody Issues

Social Service Referrals

We also provide referrals for individual and family support services.
